After Ali Asgar, Upasana Singh Joins Sunil Grover’s Dhan Dhana Dhan

It it now getting clearer whose side are some of the biggest comedy stars are on. On one hand when Kapil Sharma’s new TV show Family Time With Kapil Sharma has failed to impress audience, the latest TV gig starring his friend-turned-foe Sunil Grover is getting bigger and better. The latest news is that the bua from The Kapil Sharma Show- Upasana Singh- has joined Sunil’s team. She is now part of Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan Live, which airs alongside the Indian Premiere League (IPL) and is a funny take on all things cricket.

With this, Upasana becomes second member from Kapil’s comedy gang team, to join Sunil on the new show. Ali Asgar, who played dadi in Comedy Nights With Kapil and TKSS has also joined the live commentary comedy show. The news came to for when Neeti Simoes, the brians behind Dhan Dhana Dhan, tweeted a video where Upasana and Ali Asgar are together. However, while the actress may have joined Kapil’s rival for a show, her heart goes out to Kapil and his current state.

In a recent interview, when asked about the comedy star and all the controversies surrounding him, Upasana had said, “Kapil has been mentally disturbed for a while now and has other health issues. In such a condition people make mistakes. I feel bad for him, I have worked closely with both Preeti (Simoes) and him and have never heard him abuse anyone. If Kapil was such a bad person would the stars come on his show? He always behaves respectfully with me so I’m shocked by the language in the (phone) recording. Yes, he drinks but that isn’t an excuse for such behaviour.” The actress was talking about the phone conversation where Kapil had threatened a journalist.

Talking about Kapil Sharma’s new show, the channel Sony, has decided to put the show on hold. We hear that they hadn’t shot for a bank of episodes and due to his health conditions, Kapil went on cancelling shoots with Bollywood stars, which made the situation awkward for the channel, post which the decision was taken. However, they want Kapil to be fine and healthy and come back with a bang. There is no news about what will replace the slot as of now. There was buzz that a new show with stand-up comedian-actor Vir Das will take the place but he confirmed on social media that he will not be replacing Kapil Sharma.
